UN Principals for Responsible Banking

The UN Principles for Responsible Banking (PRB) provide a comprehensive framework for banks to align their strategies with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement. Launched by the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) in 2019, the PRBs have been adopted by over 300 banks globally, aiming to reshape the banking industry towards sustainability.

The UN Principles for Responsible Banking guide banks in aligning their strategies with society’s goals as outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Climate Agreement. They offer a framework for integrating sustainability into banking operations and decision-making processes.

The initiative provides free resources, including guidance documents and best practices, particularly useful for those interested in green finance.
